2/11/08 Grammy's
|
I'm usually not into watching music awards shows because I really just don't find them entertaining. I attend church at 6:00 last night and was home around 7:05. I turned on the television, and of the hundreds of channels I pay for (including HBO & Cinemax), I just couldn't find anything that I wanted to watch. Believe that or not. So, I settled on the Grammy's. Well, I didn't settle 100% on the Grammy's because the "100 Most Outragous Moments" was on as well. So, I flipped back and forth between the two shows. And might I add, I pay a hundred bucks a month to watch cable television, and then settle for two shows on network television I pick up in HD with my BUNNY EARS better than my HD package with my cable company. I should probably re-evaluate my expenses.
So, I must admit, I found the Grammy's ummmm...(clear throat)... mildly entertaining. Not nearly as entertaining as watching Quackers the Duck on Conan O'Brien enter the stage, do a #2, then stick his bill in it. Conan's reaction is priceless. And that was like #48 or something on the list.
Then, of course, you have to have the best and worst dressed celebrities at the Grammy's. And in all seriousness. WHO CARES?!?!?! This just puts these celebrities higher up on a pedistal.
I was extremely surprised with Amy Winehouse. I thought she was in rehab. Seriously, I think she checked in last week. This is the same girl who throws up on the audience and walks off the stage at her concerts. Same person. Now, if you are like me and was watching the Grammy's last night, I know that there was a part of you that was just waiting for her to throw up or pass out or say some profanity. That would have been a memberable moment. Maybe last night could be Amy Winehouse's redemption night. Proving to everybody she can actually sing on song without having withdrawals. Britney could be next ya know...
In conclusion, I thought John Fogerty, Little Richard, and Jerry Lee Lewis was the highlight. It was amazing to watch Jerry Lee on the piano, and to watch Little Richard's eyes nearly pop out of his head. I could have gone without Kanye West's attitude. That was unprofessional. |
