2/25/08 Sledding & Concerts
|
I'll pick up where I left off last Thursday. Thursday night, I ended up in Milwaukee at the sold out Bon Jovi / Daughtry concert at the Bradley Center. I just happen to have scored some tickets and backstage passes, so I rounded up the troops and had a blast! I have to say that I think Bon Jovi will be opening for Daughtry in 5 years. Chris Daughtry is so talented. I'm kind of happy he didn't win American Idol. I think he is better than that.
Then Saturday night, I ended up downtown at another concert at the Majestic. NEEDTOBREATHE is this alternative rock band from South Carolina. NEEDTOBREATHE is our promotions girl Sarah's favorite band. I am all about checking out new music and new bands at the venues in downtown Madison. It makes for a really fun night on the town enjoying some live music. A little loud, but at least it is live. I kinda got hooked on NEEDTOBREATHE.
After my concert outings, I had to do something to balance out my ROCKSTAR ways. So, yesterday, I made it down to the hills of Calamine, WI to go sledding with a friend. It was at the bottom of a hill in a cow pasture where i realized...I need to get more outdoor physical activity. Those hills are really steep when you are wearing 4 layers of clothing and can't lift your arms above your head. I looked like a blue snowman with my Columbia jacket on. My friend decided that it would be really cool to make a big pile of snow and use it as a jump. Which always sounds like a great idea right? Until somebody breaks an arm, or loses a finger. Well, maybe not lose a finger, but the arm thing is possible. My friend actually flipped off of her inner tube on the last run down the hill. I sledded around the jump after that. I'm not that limber. I had a lot of fun sledding. I can't wait to do it again! |
