4/2/08 April Fools, Baseball, & NCAA bracket idea

Did you get any pranks played on you yesterday? I got a close friend of mine extremely well. She was pretty upset and freaked out over a text that I sent. I feel as if "there's a spider on the window" or "your zippers down" isn't as effective as an April Fools joke anymore. You gotta go big or go home in my opinion.
Can you believe that baseball has started! Unbelieable! I think that baseball as well as NASCAR need to re-evaluate their season length. Baseball needs to wait til' May 1st to start up there season. Cut 20 games off of there already too long season. Down to 140, which is still too long in my opinion. That way, at least mother nature can at least get us up to 50 degrees without snow. Then NASCAR, I'm not sure which season length is worse. February to November!!?!?!?! I cringe everytime I hear those words...NASCAR. I'm cringing just typing them.
And my final rant goes to the NCAA. Why does the brackets have to be 64 teams? Isn't that unfair to a lot of smaller Division 1 schools? A lot of them do not make it into the tournament now. I want to see more Davidson & George Mason teams. So, here is my proposal. Let them all in. Extend the tournament an extra weekend, play two more rounds. It would be way more exciting, and there would be more "cinderella" teams. I know that there is a lot more to it, but I know there is a way. I shouldn't be based on a selection committee. Let em all in. Make it fair. |
