 Just try and debunk this American Idol conspiracy.
You may now know by now that I keep a watchful eye on anything that's over-sensationalized, and overblown in the media. American Idol is right up there on my list.
Last year, I accused the show of willfully skewing votes in order to keep Sanjaya on the show, enrage the voting public and get the whole controversy noticed in the media. We all know the average person thought he was a joke.
Now this year, more controversy, and I wonder if it’s all fabricated again. American Idol is supposed to be all about giving undiscovered talent a chance. It turns out Carly Smithson...formerly Carly Hennessey from Ireland has already been found out. The show is supposed to be a showcase for amateur talent, but Smithson apparently made it into American Idol's top 24, despite having had a flop album out on MCA Records nearly seven years ago. It only sold a few hundred records, but doesn't that still make her a professional recording artist.
I find it hard to believe the American Idol missed that fact. I believe they're once again up to their old trick of creating fabricated press to help boost their ratings.
You better watch it Idol, because I'm watching you. |
