I think my latest conspiracy theory will challenge Chad The Idol Wannabe this week
Being a conspiracy minded person, I think American Idol is pulling the wool over the eyes of the TV watching public. I think there's a valid basis for my idea that Idol actually controls the voting mechanism, not the public, in controlling who will go home each week. Why wouldn't they want to create more controversey, therefore creating bigger ratings for itself? Especially last season when the clearly talentless Sanjaya Malakar continually survived. It enraged the fans, which drew more attention to the show.
Now, I found this artice from USA Today that actually has some factual information to back itself up. It says in the 69 finals episodes of Idol, 20 singers that have performed in the first slot of the show, have been sent home. It goes on to say that in the 5 out of 7 weeks of finals this season, 5 of the first performers during the show have been in the bottom three.
Hmmm..could Idol purposely be placing contentants in the dreaded first singing spot on purpose? Michael Johns was a fan favorite, but it happened to him two weeks ago. I wonder if a fan favorite will get the axe this time?
