What a great mini-vacation!  At Whitecap Mountain in northern Wisconsin (almost the UP) they have great mid-week specials.  For 5 of us (some were kids) we got 2 nights lodging, breakfast each morning, and 2 days of skiing for $350!  What a deal.  (Most people know that I am a bit thrifty, but that wasn’t the best part of the trip.)

Skiing with the family was the best part.  This is the first time I have been skiing with my nephews.  They have each been skiing for about 5 years.  They are 14 and 11.  They went on all of the hills my sister and I went on.  We prefer the moguls to any other type of skiing.  The boys did the double black diamond hills fabulously!  I know they are nothing compared to the double black diamonds out west, but for only being in skis a short time, I was quite impressed.  (Yes, I did go down the run in the picture, and no, I didn’t fall.)

I did ski one time last year, but that was alone.  It’s so much more fun to ski with others.  My sister and I are perfect ski partners because we like the same types of hills, and we are very closely matched as far as ski skills.  (OK!  I’ll admit it.  She’s better than I am, but I can keep up with her….unless we are doing the race course.)
