I am done with the snow, but I am glad we broke the 100 inch mark. If I have kids, I’ll definitely be able to use the, “I remember the winter of ’08 when we had over 100 inches of snow!” line on my kids if they ever complain about too much snow. I did not, however, walk through 100 inches of snow to and from school, uphill in both directions. I did walk to elementary school, but it was fun sliding down the snow banks. I’m sure the people whose snow banks we demolished and shoved all the snow back onto their driveways didn’t like it as much as we did. Their sidewalks stayed nice and clean, though. By middle school, I was a wimp. My neighbor’s mom would pick us up most days; other days I would take the bus, and every once in a while I would walk.
I have to say that 100 inches is fine with me, I don’t feel like more would make anything better in any way. I’m also glad we had a few melts in there. I don’t know where I would have gone with the snow on Friday if we wouldn’t have had any meltage. Thank you Mother Nature for the 100 inches, now can you please take it away and give us some warmth so that my tulips come up and live a wonderful life? |
