I’m wondering if David Cook is as good as everyone thinks he is? I would say that vocally on American Idol last night, he sang well. There are a few words I wish he would pronounce a little more, but that’s just an artist’s liberty I guess. Tomayto, tomato. When he changed Lionel Richie’s “Hello, “ I though it was amazing and original. Now he seems to be doing that with every single song, EXCEPT, it wasn’t his idea to begin with. Maybe “Hello” wasn’t either? When he did “Elanor Rigby,” it was Twisted Sister’s version. Last night when he did “Billie Jean,” it was Chris Cornell’s version. He’s not as original as the judges give him credit for. I want to see him do something upbeat and rockin’ next week. I’m assuming he will still be on the show. He deserves to be, but as with most of the Idols this year, he doesn’t seem to be able to do more than one style very well….at least not that we’ve seen so far.
I still think Ramiele should be the next to go. |
