Play the theme from M*A*S*H. Choppers landing at my house....
Geez... MASH has been gone for 20 years, right? Still, that's my thought as we begin Day 10 of the Great Winter Sickness of '08 at my house.
Nobody was sick all winter, until ten days ago. My daughter Lucy was first, gut flu. Then a false recovery that lasted long enough for Will, my 14-year-old, to explode. Lucy regressed, then Will falsely improved as my wife, Mary got it.
Wife improved (for a day or two), Lucy went back to school, as did Will, though both of them have long-lingering effects they can't seem to shake.
So Mary made a temporary comeback while my oldest, Max, got hit. Mary's now lousy again as Max has apparently recovered, although we expect that to reverse itself any minute, as all the others have.
Somehow I have remained healthy, though there certainly must be a large bulls-eye on me somewhere. How is it that the dog and I have somehow missed it, while misery has visited (and re-visited) everyone else in my house?
They say that people can't transmit disease to animals. Maybe I'm an animal, too.
The video below is for the caregiver in the house, who usually ends up getting sick too.
WOLX Wants Your Input We are looking for your help in making 94.9 WOLX a better radio station. To improve we need your input. Please enter here if you are interested in attending a session Tuesday, September 9th from 6-8pm. You and about 10 other listeners will be talking about the radio station and sharing your opinions. We will have some pizza and soft drinks and there is no heavy-lifting involved!
