Nice weather coming, so I wonder... what can I fix (destroy) around the house this weekend?

I've been wanting to replace our garage door for several years, and it looks like this weekend its time has finally come.

I don't think our garage door was ever a particularly nice garage door before we made sure it never would be a nice garage door. 

Over the years while playing- unsupervised by their negligent parents-my kids have used our garage door as a baseball backstop, as a "force field" to stop alien attacks, and as a Matchbox car crusher. 

Imagine if you had used your face for the same thing. 

Now imagine what your face would look like if you had done that. 

Well, that's what our garage door looks like, so that's why it's getting replaced.

But here's the rub on doing the plastic surgery on our garage- I'm not sure I'm truly a licensed plastic surgeon er, garage door installer. 

I have just enough knowledge and confidence to be able to get the old door ripped out and parts of the new door installed. What worries me is that I'll get some of the springs and tracks in OK, only to discover that there's no way to install the remaining parts of the door. Or worse, to get to the end of the instructions and still have half the garage door laying on the garage floor.

So, if you don't hear me on the air on Monday morning, just stick your head outside. You'll probably be able to hear me shouting at my garage door, still trying to get it installed.
