I LOVE MADISON!
Of course, no place is perfect, but Madison is as close as I want to come to living in heaven without being dead. I grew up in Chicago, which is still home to many friends and family. GREAT place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
I love that people are friendly in Madison, and in the surrounding area, too.
I love the proximity of the country. 10 minutes and I'm outta town when I need a reminder of Wisconsin's natural beauty.
I love the Badgers. "Going to the game" in Madison is an experience we have made unique, and I cherish it.
I love the lay of the land. The parks, the bike trails, the lakes (I love fishing!), our incredible Downtown and the UW campus.
I love the festivals, Michael's frozen custard, and regular leaf collection.
I love the diversity. The left-wingers, the right-wingers, the old hippies, the new parents, the Madison "lifers" and the new arrivals.
All that makes it pretty easy to have something to talk about on the radio every morning. And I do love that, too.
I love turning the volume up so people in the hall ask "What's going on?"
I love getting to meet or interview celebrities and listeners alike.
I love the thrill of someone telling me about something they heard us do on the air and how it affected them.
I love helping with charity projects.
I love having kids on the radio.
And I am truly grateful for what I have.
