Popcorn And A Movie With Adam Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Rated R - 1h52 Reviewed 4.20.08
Love is often awkward, confusing and humiliating. Its also fun to laugh at, because we’ve all been there.
You’ve heard this story before. Guy loses girl, guy misses girl, guy finds new girl. Still, Forgetting Sarah Marshall puts a clever spin on it.
Written by Jason Segel, he also stars in it as Peter, a man recently dumped by his TV celebrity girlfriend. Peter travels to Hawaii to forget, but the task is complicated when his ex just happens to be staying at the same hotel. Her new boyfriend is also there, but so is the possibility of a new love for Peter.
While stringing together cringe-inducing scenarios, there’s actually a sweet love story to tell. The supporting actors are also something to take note of. You enjoy spending time with them, which is important to the overall experience.
The frontal male nudity scenes (yes, there’s more than one) actually made one woman sitting next to me gasp out loud. Yet, the raunchiness adds to the comedy instead of distracts.
Second Opinion: My girlfriend Vanessa enjoyed the movie and that is really saying something, as she can be fickle when it comes to this type of romantic comedy.
