Popcorn And A Movie With Adam The Bank Job
Rated R - 1h51 Reviewed 3.11.08
It’s a rather generic title, but The Bank Job provides most of the essentials of a good bank heist story.
The film is based on a true story, set in the 70’s, about some low level London criminals who are recruited to conduct the score of a century. Little do they know, there are good and bad forces pulling the strings, and they all have a stake in the stolen merchandise.
British super stud action hero Jason Statham (Terry Leather) leads the thieving crew, who believes they have a foolproof assignment ahead of them. He’s a stubbled crook, but he has a good heart.
The plot twists start from the beginning, where we find out about scandalous pictures that affect the Royal Family, which are being used for blackmail. The robbers are recruited to break into a bank vault where the photos are kept, therefore keeping the Royal's hands clean. Things start spiraling out of control, when they find even more dirty secrets in the vault. Leather then has to figure a way to get out, while working all of the involved parties.
Knowing Statham’s acting career, there could have been a little more action, but all in all it’s a good story to watch unfold.
