Popcorn And A Movie With Adam
Vantage Point

Rated PG-13 - 1h30
Reviewed 2.26.08

Here’s the question. If you see the same 15 minutes of movie over and over, for ninety minutes, can it be interesting? Heck yeah!

Set in a courtyard in Spain, the president of the U.S. is holding a G-8 style meeting of world leaders who are on the verge of an agreement to end terror worldwide. During a speech, the president is assassinated. Dennis Quaid and Matthew Fox star as Secret Service Agents protecting the president (William Hurt) and Forest Whitaker is a tourist watching the speech with his video cam.

We watch the plot happen by the characters different points of view, seeing what each character sees. While you might expect it to get old quickly, I actually found myself more engaged in the story. Each vantage point gives you clues as to what is going on and why.

Watching it, I felt feelings similar to watching Die Hard the first time. It was very action heavy, and a good guy was trying to solve the problem in an unbelievable situation. While its not realistic, I fell into the fiction and enjoyed the ride.
